32 Cells
The Idaho State Historical Society is carrying its tradition of local artists creating original artworks around the inmates and experiences at the Old Penitentiary. They are seeking a limited number of artists so sign up quickly!
The theme this year is Ethereal (stories of the paranormal and spiritual at the Idaho State Penitentiary). Each participating artist will receive an “Ethereal” or spiritual/ghost story to develop an original visual art piece on, for display at the Old Idaho Penitentiary’s 32 Cells Art Show.
The event will be held on Friday, August 13 (a Friday the 13th!) at the Old Idaho Penitentiary from 6 pm to 10 pm. Participating artists will receive three admission passes (one for the artist and two for guests of your choice). Alcohol and food will be available for purchase at the event.
Deadlines:
Monday, June 21: Deadline to sign up
Saturday, June 26: Orientation/meeting at the Old Idaho Penitentiary (10:00 am-11:00 am)
Friday, August 6: Pieces due to the Old Idaho Penitentiary
Friday, August 13: 32 Cells Art Show: Ethereal (6 pm-10 pm at the Old Idaho Penitentiary)
Sales of artwork pieces will be facilitated at the show but will be arranged directly through the artists. We will provide forms for guests to confirm sales and contact artists at the show.
