Growing the Australian space industry
|
|
This fortnight the Australian Government, through the Australian Space Agency, has provided a series of grants to transform and grow the Australian space industry.
The Moon to Mars Demonstrator Feasibility grants, Moon to Mars Supply Chain Capability Improvement grants, and Space Infrastructure Fund Payload Qualification Facility grant, all work towards the Agency's goal of tripling the size of the Australian space industry by 2030.

Moon to Mars Demonstrator Grants announced
|
|
The Australian Government, through the Australian Space Agency, is providing a $4 million boost for Australian space organisations to help them develop new technologies that could be used for future missions to the Moon and Beyond.
The Moon to Mars Demonstrator Feasibility grants will see 20 organisations receive up to $200,000 each to conduct feasibility testing and to transform their concepts into the next generation of space products and services. |

Moon to Mars Supply Chain
Round 2 Grants announced
|
|
The second round of Moon to Mars Supply Chain Capability Improvement grants has been announced, following the allocation of more than $1 million in the first round of grants in March this year. This program supports Australian industry to build capability and deliver products and services into national and international space supply chains.
The two local companies awarded grants for Round Two, Fleet Space Technologies and Crystalaid Manufacture, have received funding to improve their technical capabilities. |

Payload Qualification Facility Grant announced
|
|
The Australian Government is providing $2.5 million to the Australian National University to enable the university and its space research partners to establish a National Space Qualification Network. The network will offer end-to-end payload testing services to Australian manufacturers.
The grant is provided through the Space Payload Qualification Facilities component of the Australian Space Agency’s $19.5 million Space Infrastructure Fund. This fund addresses gaps in Australia’s space infrastructure to increase the nation’s space capability. |

Moon to Mars Supply Chain Facilitation tender |
|
The Moon to Mars initiative Supply Chain Facilitation opportunity is a tender process, which aims to identify service providers who have the ability to assist Australian organisations to enter space supply chains.
This is the first of a series of planned procurements under the program. Later stages will engage small to medium size businesses to broaden the program and provide more opportunities to industry. Read more. |

Space Explorers: The ISS Experience |
|
The Australian Space Agency is supporting this immersive VR experience as part of the Adelaide Film Festival, and held at the Australian Space Discovery Centre. In this experience, you are in the middle of the International Space Station with astronauts as they adapt to their life changing mission, and undertake the experiments required for humans to live in space.
The session involves a talk from the Australian Space Discovery Centre on the many and varied careers making up the space industry.
