Bringing established tech from other industries into healthcare

The wireless charging firm, Resonant Link, has announced it is bringing their coil technology to the medical industry. The wireless chargers will allow for faster recharging, deeper implant depths, simpler alignment for patients, and smaller implants, all with the goal of eliminating the need for surgeries to replace dead batteries forever. The charger can reach over 99% efficiency and support implant depths up to 6cm, and while meeting FDA-mandated temperature limits for implants.

A team at the National University Cancer Institute in Singapore, partnered with Paxman Coolers to develop a device that could prevent or reduce the numbness and pain caused by types of anti-cancer therapy. Few to no prevention and treatment strategies exist for Chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy (CIPN) and recently cryotherapy of the limbs has shown to be protective by preventing/reducing CIPN severity. The research team is working on ways for a portable cryo compression device specifically targeting prevention of CIPN in cancer patients.
