We’ve had a focus on sustainability this month, with the UK government announcement on halogen lighting coinciding with the release of our white paper exploring sustainability for scientists. It’s also time to submit any last-minute entries for the Image in an Image competition and to put the date in your diary for our MMC workshop!

It’s not long until MMC on the 5^th-9^th July. If you’re planning to log on, don’t miss our workshop at 11:00 - 11:30 (BST) on Wednesday, 7^th July with Field Sales Manager, Chris Deeks. He’ll cover the benefits of LED illumination and how to transform your microscope into an automated high-speed imaging system without the need for complex software. You’ll also have a chance to ask questions.

It's time to focus on lab sustainability

For anyone who has ever worked in a lab, it’s easy to see what resource-hungry places they are – from water and energy to single-use plastics. But it doesn’t have to be this way! Take a look at our new white paper, where we discuss how the sustainability trend is picking up the pace and may soon even impact grant awards. We also explain how scientists can become more sustainable through the My Green Lab ACT Label, and how LED microscopy illumination is making fluorescence microscopy cleaner & greener.

Competition deadline approaching!

Have you heard about our Image competition with a difference? You could win one of our most popular 3-channel Illumination Systems (the pE-300^ultra), and all you need is an Image inside another light microscopy image – like last year’s winner the ‘Eye of Sauron’ found in a hair follicle, by Alfonso Schmidt. But time is running out and the deadline for entries is only a week away!
