Dear I-RISE Members:

This is THE WEEK to help pass the For the People Act. Chuck Schumer will present this legislation for a vote in the Senate, and we need to push every day for passage of that bill.

Every contact with Senators makes a difference! In April, calls to the Senate were running 10:1 against the For the People Act. As of June, they are running 50/50. Let’s make them 10:1 in favor!!

Here’s what you can do:
  • Contact Senators Warren and Markey a few times this week to voice your support for passage of S1.
  • Ask your friends to do the same, both here and in other states.
  • Attend a Freedom to Vote Rally on Sat, June 26.
Here’s all the information you need to take these actions:

Reach our Senators as follows:
  • Senator Warren:
  • Senator Markey:
  • Script for both:
    • “Hi! My name is ______ .I’m a constituent and my zip code is ________. I want to thank Senator [Markey/Warren] for co-sponsoring the For the People Act, and for standing up against the filibuster. I want the Senator to keep speaking out, and to do everything [s/he] can to convince other Senators to support abolishing the filibuster if that’s what it takes to pass S.1. There is overwhelming grassroots support for the democracy reform embodied in S.1 and I want you to know that your constituents stand behind you.”
Indivisible National has prepared tailored scripts for Senators in key states that you can share with your friends in those states when you encourage them to contact their Senators. You can find those scripts along with contact information for each Senator here

The Freedom to Vote Rally in Boston is in Boston Common at 2-3:30 on Saturday, June 26. You can learn more here.

Finally, copy and paste this onto your social media pages:
  • Friends around the country, voting is not a partisan issue. Americans of both parties overwhelmingly support the For the People Act. Call your senators TODAY to ask them to vote for S1, the For The People Act. Find out how to reach them here: https://www.senate.gov/senators/senators-contact.htm

In Solidarity,
Boyd, Christina, and Debbie
