Introducing SLCs Kindergarten Teacher!

In anticipation of our inaugural Kindergarten class this Fall, we are pleased to introduce Holly Rumpel, M.Ed. as the Kindergarten teacher.

Holly's extensive and varied experience includes: “Pod” teacher, District 65 Kindergarten Teacher, Library and After Care Director, Learning Behavior Specialist and Special Education Teacher.  Holly is a seasoned educator who believes that her primary role is to love her students. “I care deeply about children’s feelings and how they see the world,” she says.

Most recently, as a “Pod” teacher for a group of eight students from a District 65 elementary school, Holly designed a dynamic schedule across three grades (1st, 3rd and 5th) to participate in district e-learning in tandem with in-person instruction and whole-“Pod” projects and activities.

Prior to serving as a "Pod" teacher, Holly taught Kindergarten at Evanston’s Dewey Elementary School, where she designed and implemented authentic play-based learning and self-directed activities to promote academic and social emotional growth. She delivered tailored and engaging instruction for students with various ability levels.

Holly is looking forward to nurturing the “whole child” and cultivating an environment of inquiry, self-discovery and self-awareness in SLC’s Kindergarten program.

Welcome to SLC, Holly!  We are glad you are here.
