NDIS Plans - Automatic Extensions

If you are confused about your NDIS plan and unsure if your plan dates have been extended or if your plan has been rolled over, you are not alone!

We hope the below information may help clarify what an automatic NDIS plan extension means for you.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, we listened to your concerns and changed what happens when your plan reaches its end date – so you can be sure that your funded supports will continue.
If your plan reaches its end date and your new plan hasn’t been finalised yet, your current plan will be automatically extended for up to 12 months.

Is this change going to continue?
Because you told us automatic plan extensions made sense for you, we are making sure they continue. This means your current funding will automatically continue until your new plan can be finalised, so you don’t have any gaps in your funding or supports.

What if my current plan is shorter than 12 months?
If your current plan is shorter than a 12-month plan, your extended plan will be for the same timeframe – for example, a six-month plan will be automatically extended for six months.

Will my budget stay the same if my plan is automatically extended?
Yes. Your current funding will automatically continue until your new plan can be finalised.

Will my plan review still happen?
Yes. A plan extension will only keep your current funding going until your plan review is completed. You can still expect us to check in and work with you after your plan has been automatically extended, to discuss your plan review.

Do I need to do anything?
If your plan is close to or past its end date, you don’t need to do anything and you will not have a funding gap – we will contact you to schedule your plan review meeting.
If you haven’t heard from us and have been waiting to request changes to your plan, call us on 1800 800 110 or find and call your nearest office.

Autism-friendly evening: Wonders from the South Australian Museum

About this event

Autism-friendly Family Evening: Wonders

Date: Friday July 2nd , 2021

Time: 5:15pm-8pm

Location: South Australian Museum

Cost: Free

Come along to the Museum after we open to the public. Anyone with autism or other sensory needs and their families can enjoy a quieter, less crowded visit to the Museum, as well as participating in science and craft activities. This is a chance to see all of our permanent galleries, and maybe discover something you've never noticed before! Our new exhibition, Wonders from the South Australian Museum, will be open and free to visit.

What is this event?

From 5:15pm-8pm, we'll open all the galleries to visitors with tickets for the event.

Tickets are free and are only available for people with autism and their accompanying family, friends or support workers.

Who is this event for?

While everyone is always welcome at the Museum, we acknowledge that sometimes the crowds and noise make visits harder for autistic visitors. We will be altering some of the screens, lights and sounds around the Museum to make it more accessible for this special event, and there will be a sensory area. We have worked with Autism SA to provide autism awareness training for Museum staff.

How do I book?

Please book a ticket on Eventbrite for each attendee, including family members, friends and support workers (there is no need to book a ticket for a child under 3).

You can find our Wonders social story here.

For program and booking enquiries, please call 8207 7575 or email programs@samuseum.sa.gov.au.

This event is supported by donors to the 2020 Sensory Appeal.
