Leach 100: Celebrating A Centenary
of Inspiration & Exchange
In 2020 the Leach Pottery celebrated 100 years.
Established by friends and colleagues Bernard Leach
and Shoji Hamada in 1920, the Leach Pottery was built with
an experimental and progressive spirit and has since forged
the shape of studio pottery around the world.

During this 2.5 hrs session you
will have the opportunity to decorate
and glaze a pre made bisc ceramic work.
Paul and Carla will give an introduction to
glazing and how to apply onto ceramic.
Once glazed you’ll have the opportunity
to watch your pot being Raku fired live!

Limited spaces available
Friday: Individual Bookings – Max 6 people per session
Saturday: Family Bookings – 3/4 families or household ‘bubble’ per session
(max 4 participants per family/bubble)
Suitable for children aged 8+ and adults.
All children must be accompanied by an adult

The RAKU Firing will take place at Ruthin Craft Centre courtyard,
located in a safe designated area. Delivered and supervised by
professional potters who have long term experience in
Raku firing in public spaces.
The Leach 100 National Raku Party is a series
of partnership events facilitated by the Leach Pottery as part
of its centenary celebrations with financial support from Arts Council England,
the Garfield Weston Foundation, and Cornwall Council
