1. Knysna Oyster Festival – encouraging visitors to ‘craft their own festival experience from the Programme
At our Knysna Oyster Festival Steering Committee meeting this week, it was unanimously agreed that “the show must go on”.  We are currently working on an official statement that will be shared, the messaging thereof being:
  • Even though all the planning has been done in alignment with and to COVID-19 protocols, we will continue to be guided by the legislated regulations at all times.
  • The new festival format has been developed by local businesses in line with their legal operations.
  • Encourage people to the website to view the Programme:  www.KnysnaOysterFestival.co.za
  • The programme has much on offer and everyone can enjoy our wide open spaces: our destination is just perfect for this.
  • Let them craft their own Knysna Oyster Festival experience 😊.
Our promotion continues on social media platforms as well as on content platforms of IOL, Cape Times and The Star, the initial feature published click here.  Regional radio advertising will commence from the week before to draw attention to possible short notice, weekend and day visitors.  You will also see Knysna Oyster Festival banners and posters being installed around town.  A reminder to order your festival-colours bunting per the flyer on the left.

2. Mall Activation Winners
In March and April, we reported that our information officer, Thozeka Sikali, had represented Visit Knysna on WESGRO’s mall activation stands at the Mall of Africa in Gauteng and Gateway Mall in Durban.  A competition ran throughout the course of these exhibitions, with the prize being a family trip for 2 nights to enjoy our new Knysna Oyster Festival format experience.  We are pleased to advise that the Padayachee family from Durban will be here for the weekend of 16 – 18 July 2021.   We look forward to sharing their experience with them and you.
