Package Deliveries to 2128 Pilgrim Hwy, Frankfort MI  49635
Over the past decade the number of items being delivered through delivery services like Amazon, UPS and FedEx has increased significantly.  The number, physical size and type of packages has been increasingly difficult to manage in the CSA Office and for the delivery services at this location.  A change in this practice is needed.
This year we had planned to redirect personal packages addressed to 2128 Pilgrim Hwy. to the Frankfort Post Office as outlined in the 2021 Assembly News.  The Frankfort PO recently let us know they don’t have the resources to handle the magnitude of packages they anticipate with this plan and therefore they will not be accepting those deliveries.
Effective now please discontinue using 2128 Pilgrim Hwy. as an address for package deliveries. The delivery services can deliver to many cottage addresses directly. The CSA Office will accept packages addressed to 2128 Pilgrim Hwy. during this transition. We know it will take time for you to communicate this change to your chosen vendors and we will continue to work with you if packages are delivered to the Assembly Building.
We understand some delivery services cannot reach all cottages located in or around the CSA.  If this is your situation you might consider:
  • Using the address of a neighbor, relative or friend whose home is accessible to the delivery trucks.
  • Work with the Frankfort Post Office, 615 Main Street, Frankfort, MI 49635 to use the USPS General Delivery services.
  • Pick up your package directly at a FedEx or UPS location
Thank you for your understanding and again, CSA Office staff will do all they can to help members during this transition.
The first church service of the season will be held at the Meeting House this Sunday, June 20th at 11:00 a.m. led by Rev. Fred Edmonds. This season there will be no choir, Children's Sunday School or Nursery during the service. Even though we won't have a choir or sing as a congregation, there will be music!  The Adult Bible Class will meet in the South Room of the Meeting House at 9:30 a.m. to study Acts. To see a full list of ministers scheduled this season open the link here.

New Boat Compliance Procedure

In recent years it is not uncommon to find that a third or more of the sail & motor boats, kayaks, and paddle boards in the CSA Crystal beach boat storage area do not have up-to-date stickers. Per the Rules and Regulations of the CSA - all boats of any type or size must be registered at the Assembly Office and the CSA boat sticker must be on each boat. All boats must be pulled up at least six feet up from the water. If members know that they will not be using their boat for a week or so, they should pull the boat farther up on the beach to leave room for boats in frequent use. To increase compliance, the Board approved a plan to move unstickered boats to a Permit Detention Area (PDA) which is located behind the beach boat storage area, between the tree line and the road.

The Silent Auction Is On!

After careful consideration, the Women's Association decided to proceed with the 2021 Silent Auction.  It will look a bit “different” this summer, but is sure to be a wonderful collection of generous, new and creative donations to raise money for our ongoing CSA needs and activities.
All precautions are being followed and the “auction” will actually take place inside (the well spaced) Meeting House. We’ve got some fun ideas and special treats in store, so please look forward to donating, bidding or volunteering during the Arts & Crafts Fair on July 28.
So…with summer rapidly approaching, please consider what (or if!) you may be able to contribute this year and be sure to kick your creative brain throttle on when you put your car into “drive" and head north!

Your Silent Auction Chairpersons,
Laura Millar & Renee Fisk

Dogs Must Stay on Leash at the Congregational Summer Assembly
We love our pets but sometimes they can cause problems for our neighboring families and wildlife.  Dogs must always be on leash on Assembly grounds and their owners must pick up after them.  They are strictly forbidden on the Crystal Lake Beach, even "after hours." Thank you for following the rules! For more information on the law about leashes and dog bites in the State of Michigan please open the link.
Ladies Bible Study

The CSA Ladies Bible Study plans to meet on Thursday mornings at Pilgrim Place, beginning on July 1st. In the current transition from Covid restrictions to normalcy, masks are not required, but if you feel more comfortable wearing a mask, we will all understand. We will be keeping the space clean and well-ventilated, so please bring a sweater as we plan to have the windows and doors open.

If you come around 9:00 a.m. we’ll have a chance to visit. Feel free to bring your own coffee or water, as we will not be serving beverages.  At 9:30 a.m. we’ll begin an hour of discussion of that week’s lesson. Laura Millar will guide the discussion most weeks, with others taking turns similar to last season.

We will study the letter to the Philippians, using the InterVarsity LifeGuide Bible Study booklet by Donald Baker. There will be copies of the study guide for you to borrow or purchase, as well as copies of the lessons and Bibles that you can use. We look forward to sharing with you in learning, encouraging, and praying.
Meet Loren Weiss, our 2021 Communications/Archives Intern

Loren graduated from high school in Raleigh, North Carolina and is headed to Appalachian State University where she is majoring in Communications.  She will be taking pictures at our events, writing a blog, assisting in the Archives, doing some videography and more.

On her application essay Loren wrote "The journey of growing up brings changes that can be overwhelming, which is exactly why the constants in life are so comforting. For as long as I can remember, CSA has been a part of my life; I’ve grown up dipping my feet in the water of Crystal Lake, anticipating cookie day at church, and attending Monday Night Dance (first as a dancer, then as a supervisor). Even as I moved from elementary to middle to high school, I knew I could always count on going to the CSA in the summers and reuniting with all of the friends I’ve made over the years."

We are so happy that Loren will be with us this summer and look forward to her contributions.
