It’s true. Our staff team is a bit beat up and run down coming out of this school year. I’ve often thought, “If we have to make one more last-minute change of plans because of COVID-19 realities, I am going to throw something!” But God has given us so much grace in our weakness. He is also reminding us that it is ultimately His work, not our own. Looking back at the past few school years, we are praising God for the beautiful work he has done transforming students’ lives, even during the pandemic:

-We saw Christ transform Scott. After a dark first year of college, alone and depressed, Christ came into his life. He’s a changed man now, even living out Christ’s forgiveness by seeking to heal his broken relationship with his Dad.

-We saw Christ transform Kelsy. She suffered from crippling anxiety, but found freedom in Christ. Not only did she experience healing in her mental health, but she has taken younger girls under her wing to disciple them, helping them give their fears to God.

-We saw Christ transform Charlie. He became a Christian in college, and then recently had a conversation about the gospel with his non-Christian twin brother, telling him “I care about you and I want you to know God like I do now.”

-We saw Christ transform Kim. She experienced victory in Christ as she texted me, “I was feeling super super tempted last night to try to view porn on my phone, but I decided to text my accountability partner instead and didn’t give into the temptation. It felt like a real victory.”

-We saw Christ transform Trevor, a soft-spoken physics major, who’s confidence was built up in Christ enough for him to be able to stand in front of our large group gathering and share his testimony of coming to Christ one year ago.

-We saw Christ transform Emily. Coming into the light, she chose to say yes to my offer to keep her dad’s pocket knife locked at our house so she would not have it as a tool for self harm. She is now 6-months clean from self-harm.

-We saw Christ transform Kaylee. She caught God’s heart for all nations, and decided to spend her spring break pointing people to Jesus in a 99% Muslim country.

Watch Miranda talk about Cru at WMU. She's a recent graduate who will intern with us this school year. There are some shots of what ministry has looked like this year during the pandemic.

A message from a recent WMU graduate

Please pray...

Praise God for the Kalamazoo Men’s Summer Intensive! The men where challenged and grown so much. We’ll share more in the next newsletter.

Pray for Summer Cru. (Photo at top)  Now fully led by students, they are gathering for weekly Bible teaching and worship, weekly outreaches, and fun stuff like weekly soccer. Pray that disciples are made through that community.

Pray for our staff team and all of our families. Coming out of the last school year, we all need Christ to renew us and remind us of the refreshing truth of the Gospel!
Here's a Cru resource you might enjoy:
