Dear Friends,

We were astounded by your response to my birthday wish. You made my birthday wishes come true, and so much more!

Urgent needs are appearing all the time as SouthEast Asia reels from economic impacts, more severe local COVID outbreaks and armed conflicts. Our whole team is working very hard to keep pace with the developments and see how needs can be met.

We support partners who give humanitarian aid in conflict areas, but much of that aid cannot be made public. If you wish to help, please let us know, and we can discuss the needs and situations directly.

In all these new developments, we keep working hard to support our existing projects with funds so they can continue their vital work uninterrupted

Since our organisation focuses on putting diverse stepping stones in place to help people go from poverty to opportunity, it presents a challenge to communicate that approach visually. So we asked our frequent volunteer Anna Pierrot, a French graphic artist living in Asia, to help us develop that concept into an image (included at the top of this email).

We think she did a fantastic job illustrating PCF's goal to support people in their complex journeys from poverty to opportunity

Because All Children Should Have Equal Opportunities

Young Alang lives in a very remote village where Thai is not the native language. In school, he and his friends don't understand their teachers because they teach in Thai.

Traditionally, many of them would drop out of school, continuing the cycle of poverty... That is why we support this innovative and dynamic educational programme that employs local teachers to teach in the local language alongside the Thai teachers - ensuring students learn their subjects while also becoming fluent in Thai.

Alang is just one of 570 children in four remote schools in this project supported by PCF

Thanks to Ban Adri – Stichting Welzijn Zuid-Oost Azië and the Brodtbeck Philanthropy Foundation for their continued support for this critically important project! Read More

BMW Bikers Bring Support to Remote School

Bike Tour Asia from Chiang Mai recently hosted a Charity Ride to bring essential school and kitchen supplies to the Ban Nai Soi Community Learning Centre in Mae Hong Son province.

After being treated to a warm welcome from the students, the group was given a tour of the project and found out more about how this programme offers students opportunities they cannot get anywhere else.

Several of the group are now actively pursuing additional support for various needs at BNSCLC!

New PCF Team Members

We happily welcome Som and Ton to the team in the roles of Communications Officer and Management Support Officer respectively.

Som has worked in non-profits and communications, bringing valuable experience to PCF as she assists with various public and sponsor-focused communications.

Ton's background has been in hotel and tour booking administration, which will help him in his role that requires a lot of organisation and internal communications. This is a key role in our organisation that is taking on more responsibilities every year.
