CMLA is holding a book club in July!

Come join us in a guided reading of Hugh MacKay’s latest book ‘The Kindness Revolution. How we can restore hope, rebuild trust and inspire optimism’.

We will build discussion around MacKay’s investigation into Australian society at this time and his encouragement for Australian’s for become their best selves. What does this offer to us as people of faith who gather to worship? How might it shape how we do church, how we worship, what we sing and how we pray?

Tuesdays in July face-to-face or online

In person         11am – 12.30pm at Café Fellini in North Adelaide
Online              7.00pm – 8.30pm over Zoom

The Kindness Revolution is available at most bookshops, department stores and online.
Music has always played a role in worship, from the Israelites living in Exile to the Psalms to the church gathering together in Colossae to Gregorian chant to Wesleyan hymns to the pop rock of Hillsong, singing and music has been a way for people to meet with and offer praise and prayer to God.
Music is important in worship, it can enliven and deepen worship, and it can do the opposite. What we sing shapes our theology and our knowledge of God.
This full-day workshop will enable church musicians to gather together to engage in conversation, share experiences and ideas and resources. It offers an opportunity for church musicians to contemplate the how and why of having music in worship and their own practise.

When: Saturday 21st August, 10am - 4pm

Where: Rosefield Uniting Church
Cost: $50 for the day (includes morning and afternoon tea)
