The Latest!

Increased Visitorship, Amazon Prime & CMSC's Chair-ity Auction

Beginning June 16th we expanded admission to both members and non-members. It has been wonderful to have families back in the museum after over a year of no visitors! Our staff continues to work tirelessly to maintain a high level of cleanliness and safety for everyone, and we greatly appreciate our visiting families for doing their part to maintain physical distance, wear masks and graciously navigate this all with us. If at any time during your visit you find a broken or not-functioning exhibit piece or have a question about something, please seek out one of our staff members. We have received wonderful responses and support from so many families who have been delighted to return to the museum! Our staff are all doing their utmost to ensure everyone has a splendid visit!

We continue to wait and see what will change and stay the same, as Washington State moves toward fully opening after June 30th. Children's museums are largely required to follow the same guidelines as schools due to most children being too young to receive a COVID-19 vaccination at this time and due to the high-touch nature of our facilities. Celebrations and special programs remain on hold until further notice and until we know how we can safely conduct them. Please remember that there are recurring events on our web calendar that are not currently happening. We understand that this not knowing and seemingly sudden changes to operations is frustrating and confusing - it is for us too! We appreciate your support and cooperation as we move ahead.

Huge thanks to great friends of the Museum Chef Lisa and Terry Thomson, who raised $1,100 during the opening events for their new restaurant Cob + Cork! The events were held May 9th & 26th at the restaurant which is located in Bow, WA! We wish them the very best with their culinary business venture and encourage you to go enjoy the amazing food they serve.

Speaking of support, Amazon's Prime Day is coming up on June 21-22! As a non-profit, the Children's Museum of Skagit County is eligible to receive donations from Amazon Smile. Sign up for AmazonSmile and select Children's Museum of Skagit County as your preferred charity at smile.amazon.com/ch/91-2081180. Remember to shop for deals at smile.amazon.com, or with AmazonSmile ON in the Amazon app, and AmazonSmile will donate to us at no cost to you.

Lastly, mark your calendars for September 3-11, 2021 when our 18th annual Chair-ity Auction & Dinner will virtually take place! Click here, and bookmark the page, to learn more about this year's event and how you or your business can sponsor!

We’ll continue to post updates on our website, including the Covid-19 page, and on Facebook. If you have any questions, please contact Executive Director Cate Anderson via email: Cate@skagitcm.org or by phone: 360-770-9746.
