Covid Relief Project Reports

Psalm 9:1 - I will give thanks to you, Lord, with all my heart;
I will tell of all your wonderful deeds.

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, KCCM has launched the COVID-19 Relief projects to benefit our churches and the community, as they respond to the critical needs of vulnerable families. The COVID-19 Relief project  provides:

  • Grocery kits
  • Cash grants
  • Remote learning
  • Hygiene supplies
  • Medical expenses

“When we love God with all our hearts, He turns our hearts to the well-being of others in a beautiful, virtuous cycle.” This is what we have been witnessing in the different churches of KCCM. In this month’s newsletter, we have included the report of three pastors, who were blessed by your support and prayers. We will include the reports of other churches in the next newsletter.

Alappuzha Church Relief works of Covid- 19 Pandemic

Thank you very much for your great support for this relief work through Alappuzha Church.

We have received funds from Kerala Christ Church Mission to distribute food kits to our people. We distributed food kits to 25 families. It is great help to our people in time of Covid-19 pandemic, because most of our people lost their jobs and some our families were affected by this virus, very difficult to meet their daily needs in this situation. We provided this food kits to them in right time. Some of our church families shared this food to their neighbors.

Jesus’s name was glorified among our people through this relief work. Our church demonstrated Christ’s love, kindness and care, through sharing this food kit to our families and neighbors. It was a great opportunity for us to share the gospel to our neighbors. It is very help of our church growth and encouragement to our church leaders and members to share to others whatever have in this pandemic situation. There was a covid death in the church and we could support that family also during this time.

We gave a Tamil language Bible to a poor Tamil family and also distributed Malayalam Bibles and booklets to 10 families in our areas.

One of our church family members, Rajappan (aged 73), his wife Susheela (Covid positive), their son Ajayan (blind & deaf) said that the food kit was very helpful for them to survive this pandemic situation because they were unable to work for several months now. They send their heartfelt thanks to those who supported them and are praying for them .

There are so many people that are living in our community like this. We are praying that God open ways to extend help to them too.

Thank you very much for your prayers and support.

Mukkoottuthara Christ Church Relief Kit Report

In the second corona wave, food kits were received from Kerala Christ Church Mission. We were able to provide kits to 30 families. It was very comforting for everyone. We thank everyone in the name of God.

The distribution of food kits became an asset to the work of the church. This helped to set a good example within the church and among the general public. This led to the further growth of the church and the formation of a new church. It helped to strengthen the bond between believers and the church.

50 New Testament Bibles were distributed during the corona pandemic. It has helped many to read, study and be saved through God's word. God made it possible to have online meetings, a wedding and house construction. An 85 year old lady in the church was diagnosed with coronavirus, but by God's grace she was able to recover quickly.

I Am the Lord who Heals you. Exodus :15:26
Amen.

Yours sincerely,

Pastor C V Mathew

Punnappara Covid Relief Programme

We work in the coastal areas, where the vast majority of the believers make a living from fishing. During this lockdown period, they were in a very pathetic condition. People were struggling financially and they were on the verge of starvation. At this right time, KCCM helped our church with the Relief kit distribution. We could give food kits to 11 families.  This increased their love for our Saviour Jesus Christ and the church.

Also we were able to help two needy families outside the church. This led  them to have faith in Jesus. They often call us and we share the word of God to them.

New Testament Bibles were distributed to 30 people. A believer in our church named George, testifies like this. " I am 75 years old  and have a disabled wife. Our condition during lockdown days was very bad. Our income is only a small pension. It was during this time that we received the food kit and financial assistance from the church. This was very comforting to us. We convey our heartfelt thanks to God and the KCCM. "

We can proudly say that this project was very useful for the growth of our church. We send our gratitude to KCCM and our generous supporters.
