Perry-winkle Farm

June has started out to be a very interesting month.  We went from extremely dry conditions to "too wet to plow" in less than a week.  We received over 4" of rain -- Global Weird-ing at its best!  Thankfully, we were able to get our sweet potato slips planted and they were well watered in.

This week we will have more zucchini, lots of cabbage, fennel bulbs, bunches of spring scallions (green onions), and a cooler full of arugula.  We also continue to harvest kale and spring collard greens.

In the flower department the big news is that it is Sunflower Season!!  We will also have more bunches of rudbeckia (black-eyed Susan) and a rack full of mixed bouquets in two different sizes.

There will be a good supply of eggs from Michael's pastured hens.

with gratitude,
Mike Perry and Cathy Jones

Hello friends,

I will have peach coffee cake this week as well as apricot delices. Both are now on the site where you can pre-order them.

We are reaching the end of strawberry season. However, for as long as I can find decent-tasting berries from local farms, I will keep the strawberry tart on the menu.

I just got my hands on some nice rhubarb, so expect to see it featured very soon. Can't wait for blueberries...very soon!

Tuesday will be a nice sunny day. It will be a pleasure to be at the market, and I'm looking forward to your friendly faces!

Turtle Rock Gardens will be at market this week with mixed bouquets featuring sunflowers, cosmos, zinnias, rudbeckia, and pin cushions flowers.  We will probably have a few single-variety buckets as well as mint, basil, and tulsi. Stop by and get yourself some beautiful, long-lasting flowers!

Twelve Oaks Farm will be there with dill pickles, bread and butter pickles, strawberry jam, and pickled eggs.
