Access to Hemlibra Advocacy 

On May 25, 2021, Canadian Blood Services (CBS) released its report on emicizumab (Hemlibra) to the provincial/territorial (P/T) Ministers of Health (except Quebec), recommending eligibility for people with severe hemophilia A. An influential medical group in Quebec has also made a favourable recommendation. The decisions to grant access are now in the hands of P/T governments. Announcements are expected in the coming weeks for both Quebec and the rest of Canada. Now is the last chance to influence the decision!

The CHS-MC Sports Bursary program promotes a healthy lifestyle for children and youth with bleeding disorders through safe physical activities. Chapter youth, 17 years or younger, with a moderate or severe bleeding disorder can apply. 

New for 2021

COVID-19 has made it difficult for Chapter children to participate in organized sports. The Chapter's Member Services Committee is offering 10 - $100 bursaries that can be used towards the purchase of a bike for an eligible child. To apply for the bursary, please fill out the Sports Bursary form and send it to the Chapter Office for pre-approval. Approved applicants will then send the receipt for the bike purchase to the office to receive the bursary. 

The $100 Sports Bursary for a bike purchase will be available until September 1st or until all the bursaries are filled.
