Côtes du Rhône rosé

2020 Release

One of my go-to rosé regions has long been the Rhône; partly because Grenache is so well suited to its production but also because there is such amazing value to be found. One of our most popular everyday reds is Guigal's Côtes du Rhône so it's no surprise this quality-conscious producer also makes an elegant and tasty Côtes du Rhône Rosé.

The 2020 vintage sees the launch of a fun new bottle for Guigal's Rosé. Unopened, it appears much like any other but as the wine is poured, a unique and attractive design emerges from within the glass.

We have a few cases in stock, with more on order for delivery in August.

2020 Guigal Cotes du Rhone Rose

£85.00 per 12 Bot, in bond
£134.14 Duty & VAT paid

70% Grenache, 20% Cinsault, 10% Syrah, from vineyards with clay limestone or pebbles and alluvial soils. Vines 25 years old. Macerated on the grape skins for a brief period before the wine is drawn off and undergoes a long temperature-controlled fermentation. The wine is rested in stainless-steel tanks before bottling. Vegan.

This has an attractively pale salmon colour from the short skin contact. The nose is bright and enticing, with apple blossom, white peach and raspberry. Exuberant and refreshing flavours of ripe strawberry, raspberry and Japanese gooseberry follow. Acidity is perfectly poised to provide tension and a subtle streak of minerality provides additional interest. There's impressive purity, subtlety and length for such a modestly priced rose. Ideally this is best served at 10-12 C.
