APAC PHOTO BITE NEWS

Summer Edition 2021

Dear <<First Name>>

This is the final Photo Bite Newsletter of the 2020/21 APAC Year. It has been a challenging year in so many ways and we appreciate all the hard work and support of our members in keeping APAC going during these difficult times. Hopefully going into next season things will be a bit different and we look forward to being able to gather again.

In the meantime we want to wish each of you a healthy prosperous and fun summer filled with great moments for photography and we look forward to seeing you again in the fall!

As always, inside this edition of Photo Bites you will find information about ongoing APAC initiatives, events, upcoming meetings, news about the club and maybe even something to inspire you.

You can always find more details too on our APAC Website.

In this issue:

  • Introducing New APAC Forums
  • APAC September Calendar Highlights
  • July Photo Walk
  • APAC Exhibition at the Rock Gallery
  • Salvation Army Photo Contest
  • September Exhibition Night Details
  • September Program Night Details

If you're receiving this newsletter it's because you are:

2. A former APAC member.
3. A friend of APAC that (we hope!) wants to hear from us.

Any questions or comments about this newsletter please drop us a line at socialmedia@apac.bc.ca . We would love to hear from you!

INTRODUCING APAC MEMBER'S ONLY
DISCUSSION FORUMS

 We love photography
We love to talk about photography
We love to talk to each other about photography

Keep the conversation going this summer in our 3 new Forums on the APAC Website

  1. SHOW & TELL – Just like a Show & Tell Program Night this forum enables members to upload images for other members to discuss and critique and provide helpful positive constructive feedback. This forum will become especially useful if you like to use the opportunity for feedback as a pre-cursor to images you want to submit on Exhibition Nights

  1. APAC General Discussion – Here APAC Members can open up topics about anything they want to discuss

  1. BUY & SELL – Self explanatory forum for Members that have gear and other items for sale.

How to use the Forums

You can find the Discussion Forums on the APAC Website under the Organization Menu. It is recommended that you watch the short video located there to give you an overview of how the Forums work on Visual Pursuits. But, you can dive right in to the 3 new forums and subscribe to them, or start your own topics, or get engaged around what others are talking about!

The Assigned Topic is Doors -  They can add a pop of color on a drab day, frame your subject beautifully or be used as a storytelling element to draw the viewer in. They can be symbolic, iconic or just pretty. Colorful doors can add dimension, line and scale to your frame. Or, they can stand alone as fun subjects to photograph on your travels or in your own neighborhood.

Zoom will start at 6:30pm for socializing in breakout rooms.
Zoom info will be emailed to members in the afternoon.

Meeting will begin at 7pm

Reminder: Images need to be submitted by

September 20th Program Night

Always a great opportunity to get some feedback on your images without having a judge in the room.  Submit up to 2 images and then take part in a casual conversation about each image as we review them together.

We will discuss each image and learn more about the process of creating good images.

Deadline for entry of images is Monday September 20th at Noon
