How do you deal with an opposing attorney that is repeatedly offensive/rude?
Address, do not engage, and keep your focus. This type of energy takes time away from what really counts (securing a victory for your client, spending time with your family, self-care, and watching the next serial killer documentary on Netflix.) Luckily, I have had very few of these experiences. So many of our opposing counsels end up reaching out and referring cases to us!

What non-legal jobs did you hold before becoming a lawyer?
Cold-calling for radio station music surveys. Scooping ice cream and mopping floors at Baskin Robbins (I still cut bananas the Baskin Robbins way.) Retail selling shoes and folding jeans that I could not afford because I was in school and making something like $6-7 an hour before taxes, just enough to get me a no combo value menu burger from the mall food court. Front desk at a hair salon, and front desk at an entertainment law firm. Respect the hustle!
