Summer 2021 (well almost ) - Art and Social Activism
It is hard to believe that my three month Art Residency at (ESKFF) Eileen S. Kaminsky Family Foundation is almost over. The time I spent creating and experimenting in my studio at Mana Contemporary has been crucial to furthering my art journey. I was lucky to be one of five artists chosen for the residency. It was a welcome change of pace from being alone in my studio in Westwood. The Mana Contemporary complex houses some remarkable artists such as John Chamberlain and Dan Flavin...so definitely the right place for inspiration. In all, I made ten new pieces during my residency. Most of them oil paintings and a continuation of my "Blank Slate" series that was first exhibited in West Palm Beach at the Box Gallery back in March of 2021.
Below are the only three completed paintings. They are so new that the paint isn't dry and I have not named them.
You will have your chance to see the remaining paintings on June 24th at Mana Contemporary. The remaining paintings are quite a departure in palette, subject matter and composition from my previous work, Hope you can make it to the open studio exhibition.
