City of Richmond 2020 Annual Report

The City of Richmond’s draft 2020 Annual Report is now available for public viewing.
 
The comprehensive annual report includes the complete set of audited financial statements for the fiscal year 2020, plus a review of key City achievements during the year and a variety of social, economic and demographic statistics. A condensed, highlights version of the annual report is also published.
 
The public has an opportunity to ask questions about the draft report at the Mon, Jun. 28 Council meeting but must register in advance and participate in the meeting by telephone. Comments may also be submitted by email or mail.

Richmond's property taxes due Friday, July 2

Richmond property owners are reminded that property taxes are due on Friday, July 2, 2021. Tax notices were mailed out at the end of May but if you have not received your statement, please call the City Tax department immediately at 604-276-4145.

The City Hall cashier area has been reopened for tax and utility payments only. Business hours are Monday to Friday, 8:15 a.m. to 5 p.m. (City Hall is closed on Canada Day, July 1). Physical distancing measures must be followed and face masks must be worn. 

Cash will NOT be accepted. Cheque, debit and credit card (service fees apply) only.

Alternatively, payments can be made:
  • online or in person through your financial institution 
  • online by credit card (service fees apply) through the City’s website 
  • by mailing a cheque (Do not send cash in the mail. Postmarks will not be accepted as the payment date.)
  • by cheque in the City Hall drop box (Do not deposit cash, as cash will not be processed.)

Whether you live, work or visit the City of Richmond you are encouraged to subscribe to the new Richmond BC Alert emergency notification system today. Aimed to alert subscribers to imminent emergencies or disasters that may impact them in Richmond, subscribing is easy. Beginning May 31, register at richmond.ca/alert

"Our new Richmond BC Alert will improve the City’s ability to notify the public and provide relevant information during an emergency," said Mayor Malcolm Brodie. "Aligned with efforts to improve and enhance other regional public alerting systems, it also enhances Council’s ongoing commitment to be a safe and resilient City."

Join fellow members of the Richmond Chamber of Commerce on the last Wednesday of every month to make valuable new connections, and reconnect with your business circle. Focused networking break out rooms are designed to introduce you to dozens of people, in a comfortable virtual format.

WorkBC Richmond June Hiring Conference

WorkBC is holding a 4-day hiring conference in collaboration with the Richmond Public Library.

Hiring events feature FedEx, Great Little Box Company, Raymond James and several BC top employers. There will also be three job search-related workshops and an opportunity to register for an information session with an Employment Counsellor to learn how to start a business.

The hiring conference takes place June 22-25, 10:00am-3:30pm.
