A Note from Rev. Linda
One of the great joys of my vocation is "excavating" scripture on behalf of my congregants—for you. I spend most of my week pondering a passage with particular people in mind. Members of our congregation accompanying me on this week's excavation include two who had recent surgery, one facing surgery, one whose spouse’s medical condition has diagnostician’s stumped, three who are taking care of elderly parents, one whose adult child is floundering, and one who is enduring the unfathomable sorrow of losing a child. The quest is not for simplistic answers to complex issues. It is for that which offers glimpses of hope, illumination—not secret “keys” that will magically make it all right—but Wisdom which will gradually, over time, mold us and shape us into the fullness of Wisdom’s image and likeness. No matter how often I’ve read a passage it seems there is always fresh insight when approached for particular people, in particular circumstances, at a particular moment. This week’s passage is an iconic one describing what it feels like when the boat in which we find ourselves feels like it is about to capsize under the threat of an unexpected, sudden storm. It’s about waking up the One in the boat who travels with us, the One, who even the wind and the sea obey. It’s about following that Wisdom so that we might experience “the wind ceasing and the waters calm.” It will be such joy to see you again after so many weeks away. With much love for each of you, Linda
We continue to hold Trish Phelps and her family in our prayers of love and comfort. If you would like to support the family by leaving a note or planting a memorial tree in memory of Trish's son Jesse, you will find his Obituary here.
From Our Prayer Chaplain Pam Braunig
Living, Loving Spirit,
We are blessed with this church. Coming together in our oneness, we hold our board in the light and love of Divine Guidance for our new location. We hold our Board President, Trish Phelps, in your love, peace and comfort.
The board is filled with inspiration and creativity as they continue forward with this charge. The right space will open up at the right time for the highest and best good for our congregants and members.
We are grateful for the love and support from everyone in this exciting endeavor as we continue to grow together in our spiritual awareness.
We give thanks for the opportunity to practice our understanding of Unity Consciousness.
