Celebration begin!
June 13 through August 15
This summer, our three services are: 1) in-person on Sundays at 8:15 a.m. (in the courtyard, with congregational singing), 2) 10:30 a.m. (indoors, without congregational singing and streaming, with in-home singing), and 3) recorded service available on-line following the 10:30 service. All services will be based on the Now the Feast and Celebration Liturgy by Marty Haugen.
*** No Saturday worship June 12-Aug 14; resumes Aug. 21

Bucket of Change       
Your donation in June will go to Salvation Army which provides, in New Mexico, youth, family, and senior programs; homeless services, adult rehabilitation, disaster services, rent assistance, hot meals to firefighters while on duty at a disaster site, Christmas presents to children who do not normally get them, and more.
We may place our offerings for the BUCKET OF CHANGE in the bucket at church, send gifts directly to St. Luke via mail or contribute via our online giving resources on our church website http://stlukeabq.org/.

Vacation Bible Day Camp
*** Supply Wish List ***

St. Luke Rainbow Trail Morning Program
1) Coffee and light snack set up for 10 people: 8 AM – 8:45 AM in the Fellowship Hall Kitchen
** help with set up
** whole milk or cream or half & half - quart size
** non-dairy creamer (coconut milk or soy milk) - quart size or 2 pint size
** herbal or fruit-flavor tea bags (e.g. peppermint, peach tea, lemon tea)
2) Bottled water or 100% fruit juice boxes for about 35 campers & volunteers
3) Individually packed snacks (non-dairy, no nuts, no eggs) for 35 campers & volunteers on Thursday & Friday (example: fruit sorbet; pretzels; peach or pear cups, veggie chips, variety pack potato or Dorito cups)
4) Sack or boxed lunch for 4 Rainbow Trail Counselors for Friday (all vegetarians)
5) Bible Study supplies (for St. Luke morning and for Camino de Vida evening programs)
  • Donations of hats, wigs, fake beards, tunics, scarves – suitable for costuming
  • Small paper cups
  • 2 – 4 pads of foot or sandal/shoe or regular shaped sticky notes

For Those Who Mourn
We pray for the family of Jacqueline Abel (Bill Abel's youngest sibling) who died on June 16, 2021.

For Those Who Celebrate
We celebrate the 57th anniversary of the ordination of our Deacon Lorna Hansen (in Frankentrost, MI) on June 21st.

We give thanks to God for Ian, born on June 12th, first baby of Ted & Leeondra Schuler-Sandy & first grandchild of Alison Schuler.

We thank God for  Alaina Lynn, 10th great-grandchild of Ginny Fisher, born on May 24th; and for Nikoloz (Nika) Jibladze, 2nd grandson of Barb  & Terry Shirrod, born on May 20th.  Both babies are “rainbow babies.” [A rainbow baby is a baby born after  a miscarriage, still birth, or infant death, and is a special bearer of God’s hope and love.]

For Those in Need of Strength, Help, Healing, Comfort
We pray for Steve Montgomery who will be entering a assisted nursing facility; and for Susan (Les Anderson's niece).

We pray for Susan Walters as she settles in her new home in Seattle, WA. She would appreciate phone calls and/or notecards from her church family. Please contact the church office for her address.
 
We pray for Anne Kelso who is recovering from surgery; Vinit & family & friends as they go through dire situations with food, work, health and COVID (Christian friends of Barb & Terry Shirrod in India);Steve for healing; substitute postman Leo, his wife, and children; Walt McCoy, now in 24-hour care (uncle of Barbara Exley); Rosie Johnson (friend of Bev Berardinelli), her daughter Alice and friend Dede; Richard Peters & family (cousins of Daleen Olson); Pastor Julie LaHam; Ernesto (Dorela Cole's grandson); John; Joyce; Audrey, George & Millie Brewer & daughter Kristie; Bill & Mary Ann Arnold; Bonnie Paine; Bill; Roger (son of Magda Renteria).

Thanksgiving & Praise to God: Charles Clark who is out of the hospital. Please pray for him and wife Sandy for Charles' complete healing.

We pray for all students & their families for their summer activities, especially our St. Luke Preschool & staff.

(God said, “And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding.” – Jeremiah 3:15). We also pray for a time of refreshment and for God to grant them their hearts' desires during their vacation in July.

For the Wider Church
 
We pray for Lutheran Family Services in Albuquerque; Luther House NM/CNM; Navajo Lutheran Mission in Rock Point, AZ; and missionaries sent by God all over the world. We pray for ELCA missionary pastor and professor of Church History, Rev. Carolyn Schneider, Ph.D. as she prepares to move to Jamaica to teach at the United Theological College of the West Indies http://www.utcwi.edu.jm. Dr. Schneider was a colleague of Pastors Wayne & Christa during their years at the Lutheran Theological Seminary in Hong Kong and may be visiting St. Luke August 8, 2021 before she leaves for her first teaching term in Jamaica.

 
For Our Country
 
We pray for our veterans and their families; and for families of those who have died in service of our country. We pray for our military and government. We pray for God's will and for the preservation of our freedom & US Constitution.
