June & July Happenings

We are back from Placerville, filled with God’s wonder, and ready to keep creating beloved community! We also have several news-worthy events to share (and I couldn’t keep my promise of only sending ONE email in June). :)

May God surprise you with generosity and joy this week.

June 20 & 27 we continue to worship 9:30am in Griffin Park.

July 4th worship will be held 9:30am in Griffin Park for those who appreciate a communion worship experience (Methodists & Baptists take the lead).

For those wanting to participate in the “float worship” this year on July 4th, see below for more info. We give thanks for the opportunities to enjoy God outdoors this summer!

4th of July Church: Worship on the Move!

On Sunday, July 4th, our church will worship God with campfire songs on a float in the Ft. Pierre Independence Day parade! Norm and Ruby Humphrey are providing the flatbed trailer, and we’ll deck it out campfire-style. Everyone is invited to join the fun: simply show up at the parade line-up and hop on or walk alongside.

Line-up will be 9am in the area just across the highway from Casey’s Convenience Store (near the fireworks stands). Please RSVP to Pastor Emily so we can gauge numbers and connect in line-up. Thanks!

Mick Petersen Memorial Service

Join us today at 1pm to celebrate the life of Mick Petersen. The family will be greeting folks at 12:30pm, with an informal outdoor gathering to follow. Our prayers are with Phyllis, Jill, Betsy, and Marc as they revisit the grief of losing their beloved Mick.

Jeannette Beemer Memorial Service

Join us Saturday, June 26th at 10:30am (note the time change) to celebrate the life of Jeannette Beemer. The family will host a luncheon following service at Capitol Lake Visitor Center, with women’s fellowship serving.

Join in Serving Community Banquet July 1st

Each year, our diligent women’s fellowship crew prepares the food for nearly 300 meals to serve our neighbors at Community Banquet. This year we continue to provide “to-go” meals, and anyone interested in helping dish-up and deliver a pulled-pork meal are welcome to gather at Southeast Community Center by 4:30pm on Thursday, July 1st.
