  • Outpatient hospital services
  • Prescription medications
  • EPSDT: Early and Periodic Screening, Diagnostic, and Treatment Services
  • Nursing Facility Services
  • Home health services
  • Physician services
  • Rural health clinic services
  • Federally qualified health center services
  • Laboratory and X-ray services
  • Family planning services
  • Nurse Midwife services
  • Certified Pediatric and Family Nurse Practitioner services
  • Freestanding Birth Center services (when licensed or otherwise recognized by the state)
  • Transportation to medical care
  • Tobacco cessation counseling for pregnant women
  • and more

We're here to help!

If you are a Free Clinic patient who is eligible for Medicaid, you MUST apply for that program in order to prevent any interruptions in your health care. If you apply and are denied, please bring your letter of denial into our office so that we can arrange for your continued care. In most cases, we are able to continue to offer limited dental and vision care to Medicaid patients whose plan does not include those services.

Our goal is to help ensure that our neighbors have access to the highest quality and lowest cost medical care available right here in Madison County.

We know that navigating the system can be challenging, so we have partnered with the Madison office of the Virginia Department of Social Services (DSS) to offer confidential, in-person assistance in applying for Medicaid, FAMIS programs for children, pregnant women, and adults, Food Assistance, Child Care, Head Start and
so much more!

This service is free and open to residents of Madison County whether you are our patient or not. Simply call our office at (540) 948-3667 during business hours to schedule an appointment to visit with a DSS employee in the comfort of the Madison Free Clinic. You may also use this time to apply for or renew your Free Clinic eligibility card.
