ChiBizHub June 2021 Newsletter

A Note From:

Jazmin Garcia
Senior Business Resource Manager, ChiBizHub
World Business Chicago

ChiBizHub Community,

And, we have officially re-opened! Chicago is officially in phase 5 and this means our bars, restaurants, and other establishments can resume normal hours of operations. As one of the leading initiatives assisting our small businesses in the City of Chicago we celebrate this milestone with you and look forward to continuing to serve as a resource for all your needs as we transition.

We’ve been up to a lot since our last newsletter update to you. I’d like to welcome new team member, Reece Fisher, Marketing Coordinator. You may have received Friday updates from Reece and we hope you find them helpful. If not, make sure you're signed up to be an active client here to receive those updates. ChiBizHub continues to grow as a community adding over 60 new active clients in the last two months and making over 140 referrals! A big shout out to our Business Resource Provider, Allies for Community Business, with the top number of referrals.

In keeping with our promise of bringing the most up-to-date information to you as we #reopen Chicago we invite you to join us on Wednesday, June 23rd at 10am (CST) for “Re-opening Guidelines" with special guests from the City of Chicago and State of Illinois. Register here for the event here or tune in via Facebook Live here.

Finally, you'll see below that we are eager to honor #pride with you by showcasing another exemplary business resource provider with a membership of over 160 LGBTQ-owned businesses: David Oakes, Business Services Manager, Andersonville Chamber of Commerce who shares with us the specific resources available, including partnering with local non-profits like Hire Trans Now to provide a diverse workforce.

We also introduce here a new #startup spotlight, Southside Food Co-Op (SSFC) a black-owned and controlled cooperative. SSFC mission is to intentionally establish a convenient, upscale grocery store in a predominately African American neighborhood. Reverend Bernadine Harvin joined us to share the challenges but also the support received in launching SSFC.

In closing, we want to remind you that we strive to be the central resource portal where you find everything you need for your business. Stay safe and healthy, Chicago!

Jazmin
