First, From the Heart
All of nature shows us the importance of opposing forces. Change is constant, and ultimately there is no sustainable path without the union of these opposing forces into a greater whole. So it is with self-compassion. While many consider self-compassion a soft or tender quality, that is only the partial truth. There is the ferocity of the mama bear we all recognize, and this is the visual Kristin Neff elicits in her latest book Fierce Self-Compassion. The energy of yin and yang is another way to appreciate how complementary parts create the whole. We highlight a review of this important work in this week’s blog.
Ready to dive more deeply into the wisdom of compassionate leadership? We are delighted to open registration for two upcoming training cohorts – one for business and nonprofit leaders, and one for leaders in global health. Previous participants cite the importance of connection to their like-minded peers, practicing the skills that bring compassion to the forefront of leadership, and finding deeper appreciation, meaning, and wellbeing for themselves. You’ll find detailed information below if this aligns with your intention to grow as a leader and in life.
May you savor this upcoming time of summer or winter solstice, depending on your location on our beautiful planet. Enjoy!
