Hello Sailors,

Just to say that we haven’t forgotten you. The Sailability committee met today to discuss restarting Sailability sessions.
Unfortunately with the government still encouraging social distancing and the RYA advising against two people from different households in the same dinghy we feel we have no option but to postpone the start of sailing from the beginning until the end of July. The first possible date we are now looking at is Friday 30th of July. This is frustrating for us all but can’t be helped.

During the meeting we were also talking about how we could keep all of participants as well as all of our volunteers safe. We would really appreciate it if everyone could be double Covid vaccinated before we restart. I have expressed the same request to our volunteers . We now have a few more weeks to achieve this.

Also behind the scenes we have been busy. The crabber has been polished and has a new jib, the Wheelyboat has been serviced and tested and is ready to go back on the water, the Access dinghies have their masts and sails back on, our safety boat drivers have been honing their skills with our boats and practicing retrieving a body out of the lake (me!). Next week we plan to polish our hoisting skills practicing on each other so we know exactly what it feels like.

Not long now. We will get back on the water as soon as it is safe to do so and we are almost there.

See you soon.

Best wishes
Sue
