"We are standing on the shoulders of those who came before us. They worked at jobs and professions, raised children, bought, maintained their homes, contributed to the economy, donated time and money to worthy causes, voted, marched, helped their elders. Then when it was time to retire, they faced new challenges and situations where their ability to be independent and strong was even more vitally important," said Eileen Hosey, Case Manager at the Caregiver and Senior Resource Center program at Southeast Senior Services, a division of Catholic Community Service.
