From The President

As I write this, we are in the midst of a 4-day Covid lockdown. I know that many of you are missing your mid-week tennis but looking on the bright side (literally), the forecast for Saturday is mostly sunny and 20 degrees. Perfect for an afternoon’s tennis, I look forward to seeing as many of you at the club as possible on Saturday.

EFLTC Wimbledon Star

This fine fellow from East Fremantle has finally found his way onto the famous turf of Wimbledon. And doesn’t he look jolly well chuffed about it!?

Well done Glen.  We’ll be looking out for you.

Can we get a ruling please?

The women's Saturday pennants team had another close win at home last Saturday, against Kings Park. But one cheeky scenario has left us at a loss. Hoping our fellow EFLTC members can help?

In the first set of Kymmie and Susie's doubles match, at a crucial moment in the game, a ball landed somewhere in Kymmie's vicinity, then in some incomprehensible way, bounced up and landed between the shorts and skirt section of her skorts, resting firmly above Kymmie's butt.

Yes, a fair question would be how did that happen, and was she facing backward at the time? Another fair question would be how much would someone pay to see her shoot that ball out of there, no hands? Butt the real question we have is:
If Susie had run to Kymmie, lifted up the back of her skirt and played the ball where it laid (or at least before it hit the ground), and got it over the net, would that be within the rules???

Really appreciate your advice
