This is an emergency request for volunteer support with the Surge Testing that is taking place in Reigate & Banstead over the next few days.
COVID cases in Reigate & Banstead have been rising for the past few weeks, particularly in the younger age groups, and are unfortunately the highest across Surrey. As a consequence, surge testing in two areas of the borough will be taking place from today, Friday 18 June, until Sunday 27 June to help control the spread of the Delta variant. Everyone who lives, works, or studies in these areas, even if they’ve been vaccinated, is encouraged to take a PCR Covid-19 test.
Surge testing units are now positioned in the locations below until 27 June. It is anticipated they will be most busy over the next few days. The management of the sites is being done by Reigate and Banstead Borough Council. However, because of the scale of support required and the need to mobilise so quickly, the Council has requested volunteer support.
Volunteers are being asked to sign up for one or more shifts. Each shift starts with a 15-minute briefing and then lasts for 4 hours. Please use the link below to go directly to the volunteer schedule where you can sign up for a shift. Volunteers will be helping with queue management and marshaling at these sites. All volunteers will be fully briefed and supported by on-site Council staff. Please only commit to shifts that you are able to complete.

- Friday 18 June – 10am to 8pm
- Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 June – 8am to 6pm
- Monday 21 June to Wednesday 23 June – 10am to 8pm
- Thursday 24 June to Sunday 27 June – 9am to 5pm
