Dearest friend of the Master Industrial Design

We cannot close the academic year without a short note to our friends. We have some wonderful news to share with you!

Graduates 2021
First of all we congratulate this year’s graduates: Arno Eiselt, Job Oort, Erco Lai, Lucie Ponard, Iris Hagel, Louw Visscher, Nico Vischi and Malin Dittmann. Their graduation work is showcased in the academy wide Graduation Show from the 8th up until the 11th of July. Make sure you plan your visit. If you cannot attend, no worries, just visit our online graduation show catalogue where you can read all about our graduates' projects and vision.

And there's more good news!
Alumni Sandipan Nath and Teresa Feldmann have both received a grant from Stimuleringsfonds voor de Creatieve Industrie to develop their graduation work further. Sandipans installation, Ocean Bloom, will be on display during Kunstavond  in V2 Lab for Unstable Media. Well done, Sandipan and Teresa!

We leave you with an invitation to reflect: For whom and by whom is culture produced? This question, which was already asked by art critics such as William Morris and John Ruskin in the 19th century, is central to the work of designer, critic and  MID  teacher Bas van Beek.
Bas is all about democratizing design. He doesn't hesitate to use the work of his predecessors in his own designs or to work for the local animal shop! Last semester our first year students partook in his way of working. Read about all this here.
That's all for now.

Feel free to
reach out if you have a question about a particular project or want to partner up with MID. We are always open for new collaborations!

Have a great summer!

Best,

The MID team
