Hello <<First Name>>,
As you may have heard on social media or through friends and neighbors, there has been a crime spree in the South Bay of catalytic converter theft. Thieves can steal these devices in a few short minutes and sell the precious metals included in the device for profit through scrap metal dealers.
The PVE Neighborhood Watch and the PVE Police Department have collaborated to create a Catalytic Converter Etching Event for our community.
Converter etching is one way to be prepared in case of a theft. The etched converter will not be able to be legally sold and if it is recovered by the police, they will be able to track the item back to the owner. The etching also allows the police to take criminal action on the theft.
This event is FREE and open to PVE residents only. We thank Van Lingen Towing who is generously offering some of the equipment and skills needed to provide this service to our community. No appointment is necessary.
Mark your calendars and plan to attend.
