Tigers progress, build team & season

The Centennial Tigers have worked hard to grow participation in footy since our inception, and we are now reaping the rewards. We’re excited to say our club has crossed the threshold of more than 40 active members! Our team is incredibly dedicated, and this is evidenced by our upcoming game schedule with only one home tournament and various games and tournaments that require air travel.

July 17: Practice match @ Sweetwater Park in Lone Tree, CO
July 24: Matches v San Francisco & Sacramento in San Francisco, CA
August 21: USAFL Central Regional Tournament in Arlington, TX
September 18: Centennial Invitational Tournament in Littleton, CO
October 18-19: USAFL National Tournament in Austin, TX

The Tigers Board is currently working to build a 9s indoor season this winter and a 9s season this spring with at least three set teams. Colorado 9s Footy is a smaller abbreviated version of the game that promotes growth while giving our athletes the ability to compete in regular competition. More information will follow!

Finally, a friendly reminder that dues can be paid via PayPal (president@centennialtigers.com), Venmo @centennial-tigers, cash, or check. Please send an email to treasurer@centennialtigers.com if you need to set up a payment plan! If you’ve paid your dues and haven’t collected your gear for the season, get with Sara to organize.

Coach’s Corner

Hello Tigers and supporters!

We’re now entering into our summer months of the season, and I’m proud of every lady for putting in the dedication and heart needed to succeed!

Attendance has been stellar so far, and thanks to that we have been able to do full metro matches where the game can naturally flow, giving everyone a great sense of player and field positioning. It’s amazing to see the accuracy and connections from my vantage point.

Be sure to notify someone on the board or myself if you can’t make a training. We plan sessions based on attendance.

Keep up the great work! I know this team will go far in 2021!

This tournament was specifically designed to celebrate the women’s game in the United States! Interested in attending? Email us! More information to follow soon!

Alternate uniforms ordered

Due to such massive growth of our team (an amazing feat!), the Centennial Tigers are thrilled to show off our alternate uniforms. Special thanks to Aussie Sports USA and Tribal Sport for their ongoing partnership with us! We’re honored to represent your companies on the track.

USAFL Central Regional Tournament

The Centennial Tigers will be bringing at least one team (if not two!) to the USAFL Central Regional Tournament, being held August 21 in Arlington, Texas. If you are a player and plan to attend, please coordinate with Sara to get your travel booked and locked in.

Summer fitness challenge—win cash!

Fitness and endurance are a huge part of footy. Being at altitude, if we’re fit, our stamina may be all we need to overcome a deficit or put the nail in the coffin. The challenge is to run a 3K a day (1.86 miles) five days a week. Join our club on Strava so we can track participation and progress. $100 cash will go to the lady with the highest participation, and $100 cash will go to the lady who improves the most. If you improve the most and have the highest participation rate, you’ll be getting $200! Everything must be tracked on Strava. and no cheating!
