Sunday Service(s)
Sunday, July 4th, 2021 No CUUB Sunday service
Many thanks to all the CUUB volunteers who work on the details of providing services every Sunday on behalf of CUUB. The Worship Team collectively decided, with support from the Board, to give our volunteers this day off to enjoy time with friends and family. Please know that we are all together in spirit and gratitude for one another.
In lieu of services today, we suggest that you consider any of the following options:
Spend some time in nature...appreciating the wondrous trees, water, flowers and the grace they bring to our lives.
Volunteer with an organization that needs your help.
Visit someone who may be alone and would appreciate hearing from you.
Read a poem of your choice.
Consider reading the Haudenosaunee "Thanksgiving Prayer" ...you can find it at www.firstpeople.us
Bear Witness: Save Lives
Sunday, July 11th, 2021 10:30 AM
CB Beal
WA: Lee Anzicek
In order to tell our stories, it is vital that we are able to trust that people will be still and bear witness to us, acknowledge and accept what we share. We must be present with one another with an empathy that honors our different life experiences. CB will share about the spiritual practice of bearing witness, and trusting others to bear witness to us, with a particular focus on gender.
CB Beal, M.Div (they/them). CB Beal is a fat, white, queer, non-binary educator, writer, storyteller, and speaker. CB was the 2019 recipient of the Unitarian Universalist Association’s Angus H. MacLean Award for Excellence in Religious Education. They make their home in a farmhouse library loft in western Massachusetts and consult with individuals and organizations to increase consent culture, equity, and justice in the world. Where is this? - another clue
Hello CUUBies and friends,
This years CUUB Camping will be from July 30th - August 2nd. It is located at Mike and Sue Kelly's property in Millersburg, MI. We have acres of woods, trails, and a small lake for swimming. This will be rustic camping but we do have enough property for some RVs or small motor homes, etc. Please join us for a fun filled and meaningful weekend of camping. We will set up the weekend before so consider joining us for a bonus weekend of fun and setup. If you help out on the setup your camping fee will be waived, plus you will get to select your campsite in advance.
Because we don't know what is going to happen with COVID 19 we reserve the right to cancel this invitation up to the last minute.
Please download the attached form and return it with the fee of $75 if you plan on coming. After July 1 the fee is $100.
