AT A TIME
These past few weeks I have been learning and practicing this new (to me) art of crocheting. It's been a joy to be immersed in this environment of teaching, learning, doing, undoing as we gather to work toward creating the various pieces that will ultimately come together as the Stand Speak Shape mural in Chinatown this fall. Being part of something larger is no glamorous or easy feat, but there's such satisfaction in knowing my part matters and contributes to the whole. Maybe this resonates with your daily walk right now, we pray you find encouragement in the truth that God honors all parts of the Body and sees you right where you are.

Registration for our semi-annual silent retreat is NOW OPEN! This August's retreat will remain virtual; registration closes Friday, August 6th. This guided time includes group sharing, individual time with a spiritual director, retreat guide and mailed materials. "Silence is receiving the fullness of His presence"

We continue to celebrate our AAPI friends who have blazed a trail, oftentimes seemingly counterculturally as they bring to the forefront the importance of mutual respect, honor, and dignity in leading alongside one another as pastors, rectors, ministers, and preachers for the fullness and flourishing of the church.
SINGLE HEARTED DEVOTION
The story of Anna's prophetic witness is often told alongside Simeon's in the temple. Similar to a piece of classical music, Victoria Chiu tells the story of Anna's personhood, single-hearted devotion, and prophetic witness as revealed in these 3 verses through 3 movements. Although she is sidelined by society due to her social location as a woman, widow, and a senior at 84 years old, God gave her a public platform, emboldened with a prophetic voice to spread the message of redemption and the work of mutuality in partnership with Simeon. In fact, she is named a prophetess! How can Anna's story offer you insight about living in the fullness of life that Jesus offers through the social location you find yourself? What is God's invitation to grow in and express single-hearted devotion to Jesus in this stage of your life?
The role of an ezer is seldomly taught as a role for both men or women to pursue graciously or honorably for God’s redemptive work. It is often misused as a measure of secondary value or status for women. The word ezer/helper has been misunderstood using modern day context to define the word helper. It is time to unleash its true alignment with God as our ezer. Its implication is that all are called to be ezers.
