While staring out the window at a wall, I made a connection, and found an answer.
I've been working on a course in the back of my head for the past 3 years. I tried to launch it a couple of times, but it didn't work — it hadn't fully formed. It needed some staring out the window to bring things together. I won't go into great detail, but if you'd like to read the blog post I wrote, you can do that here.
The course is an extension of what I've been teaching in yoga teacher training programs over the past years, an integration of the Science of Breath into your yoga practice. It's a deep dive over 11 weeks into how you are breathing while on your mat, with a serious pranayama practice. Designed for yoga teachers, it will help you feel more comfortable with the integration of functional breathing into how you might be teaching asana or talking about breathing with your students.
Starting January 12, 2022, I'll be launching Finding Kevala Pranayama. It's a 50 hour CE course through the Yoga Alliance. And for people who have taken the Buteyko Breath Retraining Course with me, this new course can earn you a Buteyko Level 1 Educator designation. If you have not yet done the Breath Retraining Course, there will be opportunities starting this September to take that course as well — it's not necessary, but will help tremendously with your own breath practice and understanding of breathing and the things that influence your breath.
There's more information on my website, and registration is already open. Space is limited for all of these courses, so don't wait until the last minute to register. Payment plans are available.
It's July 1 today, Canada Day here. This year Canada Day feels heavy with the history of the residential schools and the horrors of life and death in those places fresh in our minds. I am hopeful that we can begin to make reparations even as we continue to unearth these tragedies around the country.
Also, as I feel as though summer has officially begun, I'm going to take some time to ride my bike, finish unpacking my house (yes, there are still boxes around!), and spend time with my friends and family in this beautiful landscape. I hope that you are able to enjoy the coming months as well.
Wishing you a wonderful summer.
Warmly,
Jennifer
