Pastoral Message
Dear Beloved in Christ,

My family and I will be traveling to Greece from July 7-29, a trip that was scheduled for last year and postponed due to the global pandemic.  Fr. Theodosios and Fr. Veronis will be covering the pastoral needs of the parish in my absence.   Fr. Aaron Gilbert, from the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Camp Hill, will be covering Vespers and Liturgy on July 10th and 11th, as Fr. Theodosios will be travelling out of town for the weekend to attend the Ordination of his brother-in-law (Presvytera Elisabeth's brother) to the Holy Priesthood.

In this parish email, we would like to share with you various funeral announcements, including the funeral of Michael Croy, grandson of Michael and Christina Kiapokas and son of Thalia (Kiapokas) Croy, who was buried on June 30; the funeral of Mary Gianopoulos which will take place the morning of July 2nd; and also the funeral of Fr. George Livanos, a beloved priest of the Pittsburgh Metropolis, whose funeral will take place in Pittsburgh on July 2nd.   May their memories be eternal!

Other news and updates in the life of Annunciation Church are listed below.

With love in Christ,

Falling Asleep in the Lord of Fr. George Livanos
With profound hope in the Resurrection we announce the passing into eternal life of Fr. George Livanos, proistamenos of All Saints Greek Orthodox Church in Canonsburg, PA and Protopresbyter of the Ecumenical Throne. A priest of 34 years, he served the Church in America in a number of capacities on Archdiocesan, Metropolis/Diocese, and local levels, demonstrating a genuine concern for all people he encountered in his ecclesial life and in the surrounding community. He is survived by his loving wife Presvytera Dianthe, who together in faith raised seven children, and are grandparents to nine grandchildren.

Vigil will begin the afternoon of Thursday, July 1 at All Saints Greek Orthodox Church. On Friday, July 2, the Divine Liturgy will be celebrated at 9:30am with the Funeral Service for a Clergyman following at 11:00am and internment at St. George Cemetery in Bridgeville, PA at 2:00pm. May God grant rest with the Saints to the soul of His priest George, and His life and mercy to us all.
