Once again, we are blessed to travel from church to church sharing the exciting truths given by the very first Eyewitness in His written record, the Holy Bible. One presentation, The Gathering Storm, is a wake up call to the church, explaining the approaching menace of secular humanism and its incessant attacks on Christianity. I end with an encouraging word from Psalms 37 and a 'call to arms' to stand strong and to prepare the next generation for the gathering storm.
Barboursville, WV - This conference was very special because we took 2 of our granddaughters with us. They managed the resource sales as well as served as friendly greeters. They loved meeting new people and were definitely a ‘hit’ with the people there. One man shared that the conference helped him understand why there’s so much conflict in America today.
Paden City, WV - We returned to First Baptist Church in Paden City, WV, where Lois’ dad pastored in the 80’s. This church supported us as missionaries while we were in West Africa, but had to drop our support because of decreased attendance. Although they’ve struggled, we were excited to see they are thriving now with a new pastor and lots of young families with children. We hope to go back soon for an all-day apologetics conference. One lady shared, “This really helped me answer some questions that have confused me."
Berne, IN - This past weekend was a blessing in lots of ways. First, we were able to meet a missionary friend with whom we served in and subsequently evacuated from Coté d’Ivoire. It’s been 19 years, but those experiences were so intense that our hearts bonded. What a blessing to share in each other’s lives again. On Sunday, our apologetics conference was at a church that supported her and her husband (who is now home with the Lord). While there, our video projector which has served us for 11 years of conferences and a semester of teaching Bible, finally showed us that it needed replaced. The loving people at the church in Berne gave us money to purchase a new projector. When the pastor called to share this news, he also shared that he'd had nothing but positive responses about the teaching.
Next week we'll be at family camp at Camp Patmos (one of our favorite places) on Kelleys Island in Lake Erie where I will be sharing about this Eyewitness History with all the kids. We'll be exploring for fossils, measuring out the dimensions of the ark, and doing other hands-on activities to lock in these truths.
