John the Baptist also speaks truth to power, and Herod has him killed. In Herod’s fear that Jesus is John returned from the dead, we may hear hope for the oppressed: all the prophets killed through the ages are alive in Jesus. We are called to witness to justice in company with them, and to proclaim God’s saving love.

Survey
This is an exciting time of opportunity at Zion! There is strong lay leadership here, and perhaps more than ever, the community of Zion will look to people like you to step up and offer involvement and ownership of ministry.
Please take a few minutes to let us know what you'll be looking for this fall!

A Note from Bristol
Hi Zion community!
I wanted to share some information about my next steps, since many have been asking. When I started at Zion last December, the plan was to have me here for seven months, through the end of June. We've extended that timeframe a few more months, until the end of September. I'm grateful for the opportunity to do ministry with you all and hope I can support you during this time of transition.
It's a time of transition for me as well, both professionally and personally. I am eligible for a call in the ELCA and continue to pursue an option to do settled pastoral ministry in the area, which is why my timeline will continue to be flexible. I am also excited to be expecting my first child this fall! My husband Michael and I are looking forward to welcoming a baby girl in October. We welcome your prayers as we prepare for this big change in our lives.

Renewing Our House Update
Thanks to everyone that has helped out on this project! Tiling and grouting are almost complete. Volunteers are needed this Sunday (7/11) to help replace the altar, pulpit, and AV cabinets, and also to help build communion rails with Dirk. Remaining carpet will be installed on Monday /12. We should be ready to record online worship back in the Sanctuary on 7/14!
