Please be advised of the Annual Contribution Increase 2021 - Healthcare 99.
The Board engage an Actuary annually. This is to ensure the Healthcare 99 fund is being administered correctly and that we are providing the best service and cover possible for our members. This year’s actuarial has advised an increase in contributions of up to 15% across some age bands due to a significant increase in claims and costs for medical services provided.
At the June 2021 Board meeting, consideration was given to the Actuarial review. The Board decided that to ensure we maintain affordability to all our members, we have only increased the contributions by 5% across all age bands. These increases will take effect in October 2021. By increasing, contributions by a small amount will ensure there is enough funds available for our members.
You may recall last year, we did not increase the contribution rates at all to ensure we were able to support all our members during Covid.
Our new Healthcare rates will be published on our Website www.healthcare99.org.nz in August 2021.
