Last week, we shared two pictures of a thrower from an evaluation. We asked you what we did to change this:
to this: 👇
Out of all the responses we got, the closest response came from: Gregory Lambrinides. He said:

"Pretend the catcher is a first baseman and you just fielded a ground ball and are throwing to him from SS."

We did tell this kid to throw like a shortstop, but our directions were a little more specific. We told him to turn a double play but to throw it slightly uphill. This cue ended up being a huge unlock for his arm.

While this kid was a very good athlete, his athletic throws didn't help clean up his delivery. The arm pattern on the mound was the same off the mound. Athletic throws can create some instant unlocks with certain pitchers, but they didn't work in this situation.

As a result, we slightly changed the angle in which he was throwing. This was designed to get his arm working together with his trunk. Before, they were working separately. By changing the angle from which he threw, we were able to get the two to match up. This instantly cleaned up his arm.
