Highlights
In late May the Fight Food Waste CRC was joined by a new participant, Goterra.  Goterra are Australian leaders in using insects to convert food waste to animal feed and fertiliser and it is great to have them onboard with a new project with research partner the Queensland Alliance for Agriculture and Food Innovation at the University of Queensland.
June has seen a number of team member changes at Fight Food Waste Ltd.  Tanya Wilkins, our Communications Manager, has left the organisation to focus on her PhD, for which we wish Tanya all the best. This has caused a lull in our communications efforts that is now being picked up by participant Honey & Fox while we advertise for a new Communications Manager.  June also saw Claire Kneller join the Adelaide team from global food waste leaders WRAP in the UK after surviving quarantine. Claire will head up the Australian Food Pact within Stop Food Waste Australia, which will be launched on August 25 at Parliament House in Canberra COVID willing. Also commencing in June was Dr Valeri (Val) Natanelov as our Queensland Innovation Manager based at the Queensland Department of Agriculture and Fisheries at Coopers Plains, Brisbane. Val joins us from a recent stint at the Queensland University of Technology and has an international background in bioscience engineering having worked for organisations like the United Nations Environment Programme.
