“Shakespeare Our Way” Performance by Young Bards at ND Heritage Center & State Museum
BISMARCK, N.D. – The Young Bards’ production “Shakespeare Our Way” will be performed July 25, 2 p.m., at the North Dakota Heritage Center & State Museum in Bismarck. The performance is free and open to the public.
The Young Bards, Capitol Shakespeare’s youth theater program, will perform scenes from "Romeo and Juliet," "Merchant of Venice," "Much Ado About Nothing," "Two Gentlemen of Verona," and "A Midsummer Nights Dream."
Artistic Director Erin Weichel will speak on the growth of young actors to adult actors and the importance of Shakespeare. Veteran actors participating in Capitol Shakespeare's "Julius Caesar" will perform select monologues.
This performance is part of the State Historical Society of North Dakota's Sensational Sundays series. Sensational Sundays are free cultural programs that include a variety of lectures, concerts, movies, and tours. Young Bards will also perform prior to Capitol Shakespeare’s performances of "Julius Caesar," July 21-24, outdoors at the Prairie Amphitheater of the ND Heritage Center & State Museum.
The North Dakota Heritage Center & State Museum is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and weekends from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information contact Erik Holland, curator of education, at 701.328.2792.
