Hello Friends,

It was so wonderful welcoming and getting to know our playful campers! Most of our youngest campers have already achieved the big milestone of successfully separating from their parents and others are entering into a group environment for the first time in over a year. It was a delight witnessing these brave souls who settled in so smoothly to the Playful Learning Studio.

Our themes this week were Backyard Investigations and Sun & Shadows. Our adventures consisted of creating nature journals, designing picnic/harvesting baskets, creating collages, making solar ovens, enjoying nature scavenger hunts, lots of tending to and harvesting delicious fruits from our garden, and more!

Here are a few reminders as we move into our second week:
  • Playful Learning will be open for camp this Monday, July 5th.
  • The children are loving our water wall and mud kitchen activities! Please make sure to replenish any changes of clothes that go home. Please also send in more diapers if your child is not toilet-trained.
  • We ask that children refrain from bringing in personal items including toys, water bottles, and backpacks (bring in their items in a ziplock bag). These tend to be a distraction to our daily routines in the studio. Comfort items are okay for children who are still separating.
  • Please remember that Playful Learning is a symptom-free program. While it saddens us, we will send home any child who comes to camp with any symptoms. If your child does have to miss camp due to illness, we are happy to send home, "Camp-in-a-Bag" with fun hands-on activities to enjoy at home.
Don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions.

Fondly,
Mariah and the Playful Learning Team 🌿
