PNH News – July 3, 2021
Greetings Corporate Members, Social Members and Friends of the Polish National Home!
The Board of Directors hopes you are all well. As we approach the Fourth of July, we wanted to update you once again as to what has been happening regarding the Polish National Home.
The Annual Corporate Meeting was held on Saturday, June 19, 2021, at 6:00 PM at the PNH building. Important takeaways from the meeting include:
- The meeting was attended by approximately 50 members, including the Board of Directors.
- The membership was informed that the purchase of the PNH building was in jeopardy (and the offer has since been rescinded due in large part to additional requirements placed upon the buyer by the City of Hartford that were not achievable).
- The dire financial situation of the PNH was reviewed in detail.
- The current Board of Directors was unanimously re-elected for another term following the unwillingness of anyone else to volunteer to fill three vacant Board positions.
- A few committees are in the process of forming to promote support and interest in the PNH. More information will follow as it becomes available.
IMPORTANT NEWS:
Our most recent fund raiser was a success and allowed us to meet our personal property tax obligation to the City of Hartford in the amount of $25,507.21.
For all that donated, the Board of Directors is humbled, and we offer our sincerest gratitude.
IMPORTANT NEWS:
The PNH has re-opened for bar service with a limited menu available. Our current hours of operation will be:
- Saturdays from 3 pm to 9pm
- Sundays from 11 am to 3 pm.
NOTE: the PNH will be closed on Sunday July 4 and Saturday July 10.

Membership at the PNH has been re-opened. An application for membership is attached below. Currently, we are accepting mail-in applications only.

URGENT NEED:
If you or someone you know is interested in working at the PNH and has restaurant experience, please contact us IMMEDIATELY at info@polishhomect.org.
URGENT NEED:
We are looking for a plumbing professional willing to donate their services to take care of some urgent issues (leaking bathroom facilities, for example). If you can help, please contact us immediately at info@polishhomect.org.
URGENT NEED:
We are looking for volunteers on a rotating basis to help maintain the PNH building. Volunteers are needed for exterior and interior maintenance and require no special skills other than a willingness to donate some time on a regular basis. Contact us at info@polishhomect.org.
