We are beginning to read a new book, "The Religion of the Apostles" by Fr Stephen De Young.
This is one of the best sellers among Orthodox books at the moment. The book "presents the Orthodox Christian Church of today as a continuation of the religious life of the apostles, which in turn was a continuation of the life of the people of God since the beginning of creation."
We meet via Google Meet; therefore, reply to this email to get the meeting link.
Faith needs a generous and vigorous soul, one that rises above all things of sense and passes beyond the weakness of human reasoning. For it is not possible to become a believer without raising oneself above the common customs of the world.
- Saint John Chrysostom
July 7 - the Nativity of Saint John the Forerunner and Baptist of Jesus Christ - is the patronal feastday of our parish. The feast will begin with Great Vespers on July 6 at 7pm, and continued with Liturgy on July 7 at 9am, followed by a potluck fellowship.

Invite your family and friends and come to celebrate the main feast of our parish.

And bring something for the potluck table. Signup sheet with suggestions for the potluck is posted downstairs in the church. Remember, the feast falls during the Apostles' Fast.
LOOKING FOR A CAREGIVER
One of our elderly parishioners is in need of a relief caregiver. She already has a primary caregiver, but she needs someone to help out on days off.
If you are interested or know someone who might be, please respond to this email.
Richard Rohlin joins John Heers to talk about missionary work, the idea of immersion, silence, and a little on the Medieval mindset.
Richard Rohlin is a software developer, Germanic philologist, and an Orthodox Christian. He speaks and publishes on Germanic poetry, the Inklings, and the Sacramental Imagination. His podcast on Ancient Faith Radio, Amon Sûl, explores the themes of JRR Tolkien as informed by the Orthodox way of life.
