July 3rd, 2021 Community Update 

City Offices will be Closed on July 5th, 2021 in observance of Independence Day.



Pinellas County Safety and Emergency Services reminds residents and visitors of the county’s ban on the retail sale, purchase or use of fireworks, and to practice fire safety at home and with pets this coming holiday.

Hurricane Preparedness

 

Elsa has been downgraded to a Tropical Storm, but Pinellas remains in the potential storm path. Residents in flood-prone and low-lying areas especially should plan for possible flood conditions as early as Tuesday.

Other things to remember:
-County Information Center is open 8 a.m. - 8 p.m. today. Call (727) 464-4333.
-Residents who are deaf or hard of hearing can contact the CIC via online chat at www.bit.ly/PinellasChat.

Sandbags Are Available

The City of St. Pete Beach is offering sand bags at the Public Works yard located at 7581 Boca Ciega Drive. Bring a shovel and fill up the sand bags at your leisure in preparation of Hurricane Season.

Parking Study and Survey

The City of St. Pete Beach is in the process of reviewing and updating the off-street parking requirements as they pertain to commercial businesses, such as restaurants and hotels.  

This study is intended to analyze parking in commercial areas within the City and how they relate to the overall walkability.  

The City is seeking input from its residents on the availability of diverse parking options and how different uses might be beneficial to them.  

Please note: This is not a study on residential neighborhoods and will not change permitting or parking protections for those areas. 

To gain as much resident input as possible, the City will be holding a meeting to discuss the findings of the study on August 25, 2021 at 5:00pm at City Hall.  
 

Your input is necessary and critical to aid the City in developing parking requirements that accurately reflect the parking needs of the community. We look forward to seeing you there! 

Additionally, the City is conducting an online survey to better understand the needs and concerns of residents and business owners regarding how easy it is to walk, bike, and/or use public transit within the City.   Please complete the online survey by Friday, July 16, 2021.
