Summer is Here!

Thank you for your prayer and care for us! We have had a long monsoon season this year. The news has been reporting rivers flooding and landslides in the area. Pray for the families of people who still have not been found. Also, pray for those who have lost their homes in the flooding.
Keep praying for our efforts to reach our neighbors. Since the Olympics are taking place here in Japan (in about 2 weeks), and we host 3 events in our neighborhood, the government has maintained a "quasi-lockdown" of government requests, but not requirements, concerning COVID-19 in our area. Many in our building are still living in fear of catching the virus. This is affecting our ability to meet and get to know our neighbors a lot.
Concerning us purchasing our home, I am currently working through about 12 pages of forms for a housing loan. Please pray I can get together all the information needed and the loan process will go smoothly, that we'll be able to purchase the home for a great price, and that we may use our home for the glory of God here in Japan.
Nozomi got together with Aoi-san (the Christian lady who attends our worship time every Sunday) and one mom friend, Yukiko-san, for a Bible study last week! The time went well. Yukiko-san attended a Christian school in her hometown of Nagoya and was familiar with a lot of biblical concepts already. Please pray for Yukiko-san and her family, that God would save them. Her son is friends with Emi. They both attend karate lessons together.
Follow up on our hot water issue: we were without hot water for two weeks! Apparently, the type of hot water heater in our home is a type that you have to order from the manufacturer. Nozomi's older sister and husband were very gracious to us by letting us use the shower and bath at their house. I was able to take the older boys to a nearby onsen for a nice hot bath twice during that time. The place was right on the beach and we got dinner together, just us boys on Friday night. So the situation became an opportunity to have precious time with my sons.
Please continue praying for the Fennell, Satou, and Murahara families, and other families of our children's friends who live all around us. We hope to reach out to them more and more as the fear of the pandemic subsides, Lord willing.
Please continue praying that God would provide a church planting team for our church plant here as well. We hope to find like-minded ministry partners as we plant a church with a plurality of leaders from the beginning. Also, we're praying God keeps away the wrong people.

私たちのための祈りとケアをありがとうございます。 今年は長い梅雨のような気がします。 ニュースでは、河川の氾濫や土砂崩れが報道されています。いまだに発見されていない方々のご家族のために、また、洪水で家を失った方々のためにもお祈りください。
私たちの隣人への働きかけのためにもお祈りください。日本ではオリンピックが開催される予定で（約2週間後）、近隣では3つのイベントを開催しているため、政府は私たちの地域でCOVID-19に関する政府の要請はあっても要求はないという「準ロックダウン」を維持しています。マンションに住む多くの人は、いまだにウイルスに感染することを恐れて生活しています。このことは、近所の人たちと会って知り合いになることに影響を与えています。
家の購入に関しては、現在、住宅ローンのための書類を12ページほど作成しています。どうか、必要な情報をまとめてローンの手続きがスムーズに進み、リーズナブルな価格で家を購入することができますように、神の栄光のために使うことができるように、引き続きお祈りください。
毎週日曜日の礼拝に参加しているクリスチャンの女性あおいさんと一人のママ友、ゆきこさんと一緒に聖書の勉強会を始めています。祝福の時となりました。ゆきこさんは地元の名古屋でキリスト教の学校に通っていたので、すでに聖書に馴染みがあるようです。ゆきこさんとそのご家族のために、神様が彼らを救ってくださるようにお祈りください。ゆきこさんの息子さんは、恵実と同級生です。空手教室にも一緒に通っています。
お湯の問題のフォローアップ：2週間もお湯が出ませんでした。 どうやら我が家の給湯器は、メーカーに注文しなければならないタイプのようです。望のお姉さん家族が、彼らのお風呂を使わせてくれたり、上の子たちと一緒に近くの温泉に行ったりしました。その温泉はビーチに面していて、金曜日の夜に、私たちボーイズだけで夕食をとりました。このようにして、息子たちとの貴重な時間を過ごすことができました。
フェネル家、佐藤家、村原家をはじめ、私たちの周りに住んでいる子供たちの友達の家族のために、引き続きお祈りください。パンデミックが落ち着き、更に福音を述べ伝える機会が与えられますように。
私たちは、神様がこの地での教会設立のために教会設立チームを与えてくださるよう、今も祈っています。最初から複数のリーダーで教会を建てるために、同じ志を持ったミニストリーパートナーを見つけたいと願っています。また、神様が間違った人たちを遠ざけてくださるようにも祈っています。
